I once had a second system based around the AS501, and found QAcoustics speakers paired very well with it. You might like to audition the 3030i, the new 5020 and a pair of Concept 30s. Although the Concepts are out of budget new, you may find a used or ex-dem pair in budget.

The 3030i are a very large stand mounter and need plenty of space to avoid boom. The 3020i would be a better bet from that range, though I'd expect the 5020 to offer a lot more performance.
