Missed it, but I heard Colin being interviewed on BBC radio 2 the night after it was first screened, and he said 'the story of the bomber boys needs to be told.' What!? I've got countless documentaries on DVD about Bomber Command.
Sorry if I sound a little touchy and slightly bitter but no one ever mentions the influence and effort put in by Coastal Command. Sure they didn't lose as many personnel. Good reason for that: The budget for Coastal severely restricted, and most aircraft on front-line Coastal duties were borrowed (or loaned) from the USAAF, with the exception of the Sunderland.
