I recently bought a Panasonic TH-42PX80E plasma which looks great ;)
I use it with an Onkyo DV-SP406 DVD Player and I am happy with the result
I plan to buy an HDMI cable (probably the QED Performance (35 GBP at Play.com) as the Van Del Hull's Flat I think is too much for a budget DVD Player)
As I said I am very happy with the picture quality but.....will I have any huge benefit if I buy a Blue Ray player (e.g. Panasonic DMP-BD35) considering that my TV is HD-Ready and not Full HD?
Probably this has been already been answered in other threads but I couldn't find the correct thread :)

You will definitely notice the difference. ÿI have a Pioneer 4280XD which upscales DVD to produce a most satisfactory and pleasing picture. ÿNevertheless, there are still imperfections. ÿBlu-Ray, on the other hand, is crystal clear with improved colour and contrast. ÿThe new sound formats are really great too. ÿIf you can afford it, go for it. ÿBTW, in view of the price of discs at present, I'd recommend a Lovefilm subscription to see a range of movies at a reasonable cost.

Buy The following both on BD's and DVD's and someone out there please tell me where the differences are , apart from the price, watching from 8ft away:

The Day After Tomorrow BD £15.98 and DVD £4.98

RV BD 14.98 and DVD £4.98

The Untouchables BD £12.98 DVD £5.00

I am Legend £16.98 DVD £6.98

All of the above are particularly good transfers both on BD and DVD but does it warrant spending an additional £10-11 more for the BD when the DVD transfers for these movies are great?

Also take Halloween and Die Hard-the very first films....both are atrocious on Blu Ray and look the same on DVD...but once again a big price difference
