Blu-ray update HELP PLEASE

Hi, iv'e been having trouble playing some blu-ray discs with the word 'Unknown' showing on player display. Im trying to do a filmware upgrade as its 007 setting and should be 024 now with the upgrade. Iv'e the BDP-S350 sony player. Its asking to plug blu ray player into router with ethernet cable. This is not possible for me because of the distance between them. I also don't have the firmware upgrade disc. Can i get one sent from sony and is it a case of not connecting to the internet just loading the disc for the update? I'm stuck with this Help would be good. Thanks darren.

More info here, you can actually download the update onto your hard drive and burn an upgrade disc.
