Hi

A question for the team.

As one of the panelists on the September Big Question, I'd like to thank the guys for looking after us and treating us to lunch.

Dominic mentioned that we would get a complimentary subscription to the mag but so far I've not had any news on this. Also, is there any chance of getting a copy of the photos taken for the article?

Once again thanks for a fun and interesting day.

Angelina, our Brand Manager, has been on holiday for the past two weeks, but don't worry - the subscription will be in hand.

I'll draw this thread to her attention on Monday.

Cool, thanks for that. I'm off to Maplins now to get a sound level meter.

Great can you please ask Angelina about mine too (I think it was the Ultimate Gide that was mentioned), Thanks Andrew

Hello mate

Yeah

Bought two Clearer audio power leads (one for the BluRay and one for the telly) and didn't really notice much difference but I couldn't do the amp as it's hard wired. Then the telly blew up. I hope it was a coincidence. Doh!!

You?

Bought the Mains Filter Block, made a difference especially to DVD the sound got much louder (Sound Familiar), and been Playnig with my interconnects, Had Reasonable ones already, but managed to borrow some different ones to experiment with, found a sound I prefer, My system was pretty Good IMO but managed to eek out a few Gains.

Biggest change was to buy a Turntable a Project Genie, do you remember the Red one in the Audio room while we were having our photos taken, it is one of those, unfortunately had the cheaper cartridge in , to be honest sound wise Vynal is not what I expected when I bought it but am still enjoying it, got my Vinyl out that went in the loft while I was a teenager and having fun going round Charity Shops picking up Old bargain LP's

Hello Paul

The power cables can take 50-100 hours of use (especially with displays) to reach optimal performance. If the cables have not had this length of use then I would recommend re-testing after thsi period of time and comparing with your standard cables. If ultimately you do not feel the cables are working for you then please feel free to take advantage of our 60 Day Money Back Guarantee.

With regards to your TV failing, we have never had a problem with our power cables. Our power cables are made to the highest standards and are fully safety tested before despatch.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Darren

I got a Clearer Audio power lead for my tv a few months ago and didn't find much of a gain straight away either. Then, nearing the end of the 60 day trial period I decided to compare it to the original power cable, thinking that there wouldn't be much difference and I would get my money back. But the difference was quite noticeable really. Much more vibrant picture and more enjoyabe to watch.

So I would definitely wait until near the end of the trial period before thinking of sending your cables back.

I couldn't do the amp as it's hard wired.

you can get an IEC male adapter (and cut the hard-wired lead - no more difficult that changing a plug).

I have an IEC male adapter that I bought from clearer audio as both the guy there and I assumed that the 1909 was the same as its US model sister and hard-wired (we looked at the manual on Denon's US site) - might see if I can get a credit for it against another mains cable for the telly!

I'll have a compare tonight while the missus is at work. If I was to fit a IEC male adapter would it make an improvement as I can't help thinking that it's only going to be as good as the weakest link which is the short peice of bell wire from the amp. If it will I may have to indulge. I used to be a sparkey in a previous life so should be able to fit the adapter, I'm a paramedic now so I should be able to start my heart again if it goes wrong, so here goes

Darren

Wasn't implying anything by my saying the telly broke after fitting the lead my friend.

Paul W

Glad your enjoying vinyl again mate.

I'll leave it an expert to say- but I think with mains, you'll cut the cable at 3inches from the amp, so there's less "exposed cable" to pick up interference. A fully shielded cable all the way would be better, but it's not a bottleneck issue the way it is with interconnects. I think!

Cool.

Also, is the adaptor you get from ClearerAudio special or is it just the same as one from ebay for example?
