I would like to continue using J.River and dBpoweramp on my new iMac I have briefly browsed the instructions for bootcamp on Apple's website. They cover XP, Vista and 7, are any members aware of a simpler step by step guide to use for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

If it is only one or two apps you want to run, I would look in to parallels desktop so that you don't need to log out and boot in to boot camp, you can use said windows apps within the OS X environment.

Should be quite straightforward Craig - install windows as normal, then put your OSX discs in to install the drivers, job done.

Note that if you want to use those apps from within OSX itself (as opposed to booting up into Windows), you'll need something like VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop as well.

I though about Virtual Software, however another forum I frequented suggested that Media Programs, such as J.River didn't run so well with Virtual Software. I would also rather keep the two systems separate.

Thanks for the Advice

If you don't need to run Mac/Win simulataneously OSX comes with Bootcamp - which allows you to install Windows on a partition on your hard drive, after which when you boot up you get a choice to boot up in Mac or Win.

This also has a performance benefit as you'll be running Windows natively.
