As I'm about to embark on buying a new AV system - I'm currently investigating all the options.

I'm intending to use an old Russ Andrews 8 way power distribution block with mains filtering and spike protection - but are his budget mains cables (from the equipment to the block) the best value / offer the best improvements?

Regards,

Mark.

Im sure they are good quality, everyone raved about the Yellow
cable when it was around and that cost £30. I recently had the same
dillema and found the Merlin site were discounting their cables. Last
week i went to one of there distributors,Hi-Fi care in london and
bought a tarantula for my mains block for £40 and a black widow for my
cd player at £65 down from £80. Bearing in mind i hadnt used the block
until that point i was very impressed with the result. It took a couple
of days but i have better tonal balance and a bit more punch.
