Best 40inch LCD under £600

Yup, my in-laws just got the 37" version of this Samsung and I spent last weekend watching it - it's very good indeed. On movies, picture definitely needs toned down a bit from 'standard' delivery settings, but that's no criticism and I really couldn't fault it. In fact, seriously thinking about getting one ourselves now.

I saw the Philips next to the Samsung and much prefer the Samsung.

I think the Samsung and Sony are best value in the 40 inch class, maybe add the Panasonic TX-42S20 too great value.

Samsung 6620 same as the 6650 in Richer for £799 and you then get £100 back from Samsung, so at 99 0ver your budget its the best i could find by far, and I'm quite the sony fan.

Best point for me is it makes SD look like HD.

Have you thought about going along the Plasma route? There is always the 42" Panasonic TX-P42X20B which can be had for under £500
