Is there any way to view iPlayer recordings on a TV? I have a 22" monitor on my desktop but it would be far more convenient to be able to transfer the programmes to the TV for viewing.

Do these new TVs with limited internet facilities provide such a facility?

I've used a PS3 to view programmes which worked well. Other option is to hook up the computer/a laptop to the TV.

A laptop did occur to me, but I do not own one as yet. As the desktop and TV are on different floors of my house, a long cable between them is not a practical option.

Thanks. Only £219 would go a long way towards the cost of a laptop which, I assume, would do the same thing.

Yes, although the Fetch TV has a 160GB hard drive for recording other broadcasts, which could be handy.

to my mind one of the biggest benefits of Virgin cable is the 30 day iPlayer at full-on TV picture size. No mess, no wires
