Hello, currently I own Yamaha RX-396, Yamaha CDX-593, and JPW ML610 - all with stock speaker and component connectors. I'd like to totally change my home audio set and I would really like to couple B&W 685 S2 (with stav24) with Cambridge CXC and CXA60. I'm hesitant as per:

1. Are those speakers enough for a room of 6-25 square metres, power-wise?

2. Is this is a good audio component quality match as per speakers? I listen to different kinds of music - pop, (hard) rock, (heavy) metal, and jazz.

3. Going with Cambridge - is the amp and speakers power match fair?

4. What are the best component cables for this set? $150+.

5. What are the best speaker cables for this set? $150+.

My total budget for speakers, cd (no usb, sacd, or alike), and amp is $3k. I picked the three award winners but would like to find out if those match between each other and if I get the best sound for the money.

Regards,

A

I have the 685 S2 and they are driven with Rotel RC-03 and RB-03 i am very pleased indeed but my impression is that they are a bit demanding with the power (87db)

So i personally would go with the CXA80 amplifier instead

The other option is to use a power amp alongside the cheaper CXA60 if you need more power in the future. I'd be tempted to go for the 683 s2 as they are more sensitive and you can save on the stands that way.
