I have the chance of getting my hands on one of these little fella's for a song, downside is no demo first as its a private sale far far away! Im hopeing to stuff it on the end of my big onk 875's front channel pre outs....... anyone have any idea whether it would be a worthwhile upgrade??? music and movies??????

Can't do any harm, but you'd do better to buy an 8000A or 8000S and run the Roksan player directly through that for music playback in stereo, with the Onkyo connected to it via the preouts for surround duties

Well I have an modded 8000p power amp myself gathering dust, it's a lovely amp.
Don't use it though as my 875 fed with its clean power supply is just as musical. That's where I would spend your money first.

Yeah i kinda thought that but i was put of by the thought of always having to mess with the volume pot when switching duties! more so the wife who nearly sent my speakers to valhala several times when i had a rotel 1072 in that config (volume at 12 for surround duties)
