I know - you've discussed this company before. Unfortunately I only found that out after I placed an order (relatively small cost, but still £157.50) for an item earlier this week. On a credit card, but did I write down an order number? No. Doh. Of course the item has yet to appear.

Since then, their website has evaporated into cyberspace and although the phone line is still active, I can't get through.

Do they exist in the physical world?

perhaps their internet site is down ... you only placed the order during this week so thats why you have not received your order yet ...

keep on trying the phone (try sales and not support ... if there is a separate number?) ... you paid via credit card, so will be fine if they have gone bust

Yes they have a shop in The Custard Factory in Birmingham. Maybe's they're too busy making custard.

I visited the place once to collect some cart tags as I couldn't get through on the phone. After knocking on the door for five minutes and staring in through the window, I was eventually let in and told he was having problems with his phone. Funny that, he's been having phone problems since 2004.

On the other hand I have been offered a replacement from AudioAffair for a CD Player (NAD C545) that the distributor (armour home) has failed twice to repair and blamed the courier service for the faults.

The replacement hasn't happened yet and I will report it's progress here.

In my personal experience there is a little communication problem with them, but they are always helpful in the end.

Whilst we have no connection with the company, I would like to reassure posters.
We have heard from them three times today and there is no sign of them being out of business.

I hope this adds some comfort.

My experience, last year, wasn't up to much.

Visited the shop, as l was in Birmingham for work purposes & at the time looking for some stand mount 'speakers.

Had the intention of going for Epos M5i's however, they did not have any in stock. Had a listen to a couple of alternatives & was impressed with Usher S-520's & decided to go for them.

Though they had the model in stock, they didn't have the finish in Cherry, with shielding; which was £40 extra.

Waited approx' 2 weeks for them to arrive, it would seem via a dealer in Scotland, they were in red cherry & not shielded.

As many on here have found, communication to resolve the issue was dire & l ended up physically taking the 'speakers back to the shop.

l had also decided to return to my original plan of the Epos M5i's & as they still didn't have the model in house, promised faithfully to have it with me within the week.More fool me!

Took around 6/7 weeks, if l recall, for them to arrive. Even then l was concerned, as the front covers to the speakers had a strange white powdery substance on them. l contacted Audio Affair who said they would in turn contact Epos. Given the afore mentioned problems l did this myself & Epos send a replacement pair.

Thanks for your comments. We are of course still in business. The recent downtime is due to our web team upgrading the website to offer even better performance. It's worth noticing that we've recently introduced several features that wouldn't be possible unless we were a very healthy business. These include the addition of industry leading Verisign SSL security and McAfee Secure virus scanning - exclusive and rigorous security features designed to offer a safer shopping experience. Other improvements since the start of another thread include:

- 2 new members of customer services (dedicated to e-mail/phone support)
- Much larger stockholdings to ensure quick dispatch
- New customer services based computer systems
- "SafeBuy" accredidation
- New online "Live Chat" as an alternative to e-mail/calling
- New terms and conditions
- New return policies (including free UK collection for warranty repairs)
- New store manager and warehouse staff

Whilst another member mentioned on another thread that if all the positive comments were left they would far outweigh the negative ones, the suggestions for improvement are the comments we really want to hear. We are here for *you* after all! As such, we've set up a new "feedback" e-mail address comment@audioaffair.co.uk, where you can send any comments for improvement to ensure they are looked at quickly. We are listening and working hard to get as close to 100% satisfaction as we can.

I have used Audio Affair for 2 purchases and both were received in excellent condition and quickly so no complaints here at all. Also price wise they are very competitive indeed.

As mentioned the ones posted will always be on the problems side or stock delays but hey i thought id add a vote a confidence.

Hello again. I called them yesterday and got through OK, helpful lady on the phone but then told me that due to the system problems I would have to repeat my order, which I did after a moment's thought. Still waiting for the confirmatory email with the order number though! Will keep you posted.

I would like to publicly thank the staff at audioaffair for being so helpful with me, concerning my problem with a NAD C545 cd player being faulty. Due to the fact that the distributor (armour home) wasn't able to repair my unit (twice) and still denied replacement, audioaffair were kind enough to replace it for me. Many thanks!

Audio affair is the worst rubbish out there. I wouldn't dare to buy anything from them after this. See the attached conversation. After 20 days i still have no clue where My delivery is. And Audio Affair keeps bull****ing me. Audio Affair sucks!

25/2/2013 Audio Affair:

Good dayThank you for you recent order with us, sometimes when our customers pay via Credit or Debit card from abroad the system we use is unable to check the address provided. In instances such as this procedure states that we require further identification from you in order to ascertain that the goods are going to the correct person.

I will need a photograph/scan of a photo identification and a photograph/scan of utility bill with your name and the billing address on, the one you provided with your order.I trust you understand why we do this and thank you in advance for you cooperation. -

Kind regards, Richard

26/02/2013 Me:

Hello, i have attached a scan of my photo identification and a scan of a utility bill. Please let me know as soon as possible when the shipment is on its way or if i u need anything else.

Best regards

26/2 Audio Affair:

Thank you for your cooperation I am pleased to say I have now cleared your order.

04/03/2013 Me:

Hello! I ordered a onkyo reciever and Focal speakers from you on sunday 24/2 with the ordernumber: xxxx I still have not recieved either the reciever and speakers or a confirmation that it has been sent.

I have spoken to Richard via mail, and he hasn't answered me if or when my delivery will reach me. See our mailconversation below. I also phoned you directly and spoke to a Rob who said he would look in to the matter and then mail me an answer not more than 2 hours after the call.

This was on friday, and i still havn't got a reply. Its now 8 days since i made the order, paid you and i still have no clue about what happend to my money or my order. Is this what you call service? Its said clearly on your webbpage that delivery took 5-7 days.

If i dont get a reply and knowledge of the whereabouts of my money or my delivery by tomorrow, i will be forced to take legal action against you. I really hope this is all a big misstake from your side and that you will contact me right away so that we could clear this matter out.

Kind regards

04/03/2013 Audio affair:

Apologies, your last email regarding delivery times seems to have evaded me, your goods automatically go on order when you place the order. The delivery period on item going out of the UK is usually 5-7 but can take a little longer in some instances - your Onkyo 818 arrived this morning I signed for it personally.

The Focal package is due to us Wednesday so all goods will be dispatched by the end of the week .

Kind regards, Richard

13/03/2013 Me:

What is going on? Where is my reciever and speakers?

This is not acceptable. Its now been 17 days since i placed my order and its been 9 days since you told me that my package was on its way.

This is not ok, if you tell your costomers one thing you have to keep it.

I want to know:

1. where is my package and when will it arrive.

2. How will you compensate me for waiting this long?

13/03/2013 Audio Affair:

Apologies for the delays, it appears Onkyo sent to us a black receiver rather than a silver,If black is acceptable then I can offer you this at a very good discount,If not, I am awaiting a call back from Onkyo in order to see how quickly they can get me a silverunit,

Kind regards,

Richard

13/03/2013 Me:

How Much is a very good discount? And when can you have my order delivered? And dont bull**** me anymore. I need straight answers!

To me it's clear that they never had What i ordered in stock and that they have known this all along and that they been trying to win time. This is not honest.
