just been to change the cd on the Rega, and when i got close to it, i could hear a hum coming from the inside of the player.

what could possibly be causing it? is something wearing out inside? this was audible when the machine was not playing a disc. so its not mechanical.

it is above the amp, but is on its own wood/glass shelf. i turned the amp off too, and unplugged it, and the hum was still there. i even swapped the power supplies to both, and the hum is still there.

there's no warranty, this is an original Apollo, not the "R"

Hi bigfish786,

The Apollo CD player was first introduced in 2005 so your unit could be as much as 9 years old, if you return the player to us, preferably via one of our franchised dealers, then we will investigate the problem and sort it out for you as soon as possible and return the unit to you.

If the hum doesn't intrude on your listening just ignore it. It'll be the mains transformer. Some do hum or buzz a little, it doesn't indicate anything serious.
