Hi alchemist 1

Yes, the new curved SCM11 monitors reproduce low frequencies with better definition

Btw, not sure what you mean by the previous SCM11's LF performance as "not so flat" :?

All the best

A bit more oomph in the bass dept. Rick,

My previous 11's always seemed lacking.

Great speakers apart from the bass.

Is the new model more listener friendly ?..........:)

Reading the whf news on the ATC 7'S & 11's they come with a new tweeter.

Is the mid/bass driver a new design?..........:?

The bass driver is the same as bought over from the SCM10 and previous SCM7, and SCM12 for the SCM11.

So the bass will be flat ?

Unless the new shape has a bearing on the bass response ..........:shifty:

Yes, the bass will measure accurate to the source material. ATC's heritage is in studio monitoring and their speakers are notoriously flat, honest and natural across the frequency range. Clearly that's isn't the sound for you - which is a good thing, as if they suited you they wouldn't suit me. If you want your boosted bass, stick with your Kefs.

You can roll your eyes all you like, but fact is alchemist (aka fats, I believe) likes a non-flat, exaggerated bass, didn't find it with ATC, tried kefs and found it there. Argue with him not me.

Yes the ls50's do produce a better bass for me.

Exaggarated is not a word i would use to describe the Kef's bass............:)
