Arcam udp411 - play button

Hi I recently purchased a udp411 from arcam and the play button doesn't start a disc playing. Is this a 'quirk' or the player? I have to go into a menu system to play a disc! The button works functionally as it will allow a playing disc to pause and play again, but if stopped I have to go back into the menu.

for a universal disc player this is strange so need to know if mine has a software glitch.

It's not a quirk in the player, that's how blu ray discs are.

Some discs will play automatically from the start, but not always with the correct HD audio soundtrack. I guess, until you know a particular disc, it's best to check in the menus.
