I’ve not heard the D-Premier however if a D-120 can drive passive ATC SCM150SL’s then I think your speakers should be a walk in the park for the D-Premier.

Why do supposedly state of the art speakers like the Magico Q7's have such awkwardly low impedances? 4 ohms in this case.

Why not just wind all the voice coils to make them twice the impedance and therefore give the amplification an easier time?

If companies like Bozak could offer two versions of the same drivers at 16 ohms and 8 ohms way back in the 1960's, why can't Magico in 2018?

91 dbs efficient at 8 ohms makes so much more sense than 94 dbs at 4 ohms.

Why force your customers into current dumping amplification? That should be the realm of small, budget speakers. Not large, expensive ones.

That folks don't buy their speakers cheap used. And use them with cheap amplification and be under whelmed with the whole brand design. And then rant about its subpar performance on forums.

I've seen lots of folks mostly in the US, using high end speakers with modest avr's. No where near the quality of electronics that the speakers demand.

Newlash09, surface logic says expensive speakers should be mated with expensive amplifiers. But that is so wrong if you're going for best system sound quality AND have large speakers. In that case a minimalistic, low powered amplifier will sound best (if the large speakers are an easy load, which is easy to do if the designer so desires). Low powered minimalistic amplifiers are relatively cheap because there's almost nothing in them and they don't require huge power supplies. They are also simple and don't require the R&D spend of Devialet.
