I'm looking to upgrade from my Yammy DSP AX-863 http://www.whathifi.com/yamaha/dsp-ax863se/review

This amp has served me very well overall the last 6 years or so, partnered with the B&W 685 5.1 speaker package and a PS3 for blu rays and Sky HD outputting to a 42" plasma.

Unfortunately, it's time to move on. I posted recently on another thread about running out of HDMI inputs -this remains my primary reason for replacing.

I haven't been keeping up with recent AV reviews. What's the current thinking on AV amps £500-£1000? I enjoyed this amps sheer oomph and sound separation. It wasn't great with music though -possibly because of my sources.

I would be looking to add a dedicated Blu Ray player, PS4/XBone, and hopefully a projector as a secondary output. I am not bothered about any more power than the Yammy, nor in adding more speakers.

As ever, your thoughts inspire my purchases, so advice is gratefully appreciated.

Why not investigate the Yamaha rx-v1073. It is apparently the Australian version of the Yamaha RX-A1020 and several uk dealers have been clearing the remaining stock at £459. http://www.petertyson.co.uk/ebuttonz/ebz_product_pages/yamaha_rx-v1073.shtml

it has 8 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs, so hopefully would meet your needs.

It is all but identicle to the 1030 the only difference i could find, it is missing the 5th foot in the middle & sounds excellent with my Dali Ikon system. :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've been pondering on the Pioneer LX57.

What are people's thoughts on this amp? Is it overkill for the rest of my setup? Would the B&Ws contribute to the relative brightness of this amp?

I think it might be audition time soon...
