Hi, I am looking for some help in selecting an Amp for some MS 916I speakers, I am currently using a CA 340se and matching 340 cd player, looking to move forward in terms of sound quality, a bit more warmth at times, bit more bass.

Planning on purchasing a Dacmagic or Beresford 7520 to stream music from a networked PC, I have an Airport Express connected up on my own network (finally, it was a bit of a pain but the forum posts helped).

Speakers cant be changed, wife likes the look and they match the decour!

Budget about £500

I have been looking at recent posts, interested in Roksan Kandy Mk 3, and just noticed Richers Sounds have a CA 840 A V1 for £400.

Any advise?

I used to have the CA 640 amp and cd pairing with MS 914 speakers and was pleased with the sound so would think the 840 would be a good match at that price or maybe just go for a 640 if you can get it a lot cheaper than the 840.Are you going to use the 340 cd player as a transport connected to the DAC? If not then a cd upgrade might be needed to get the best out of the amp.

Thats the plan for the CD player, although I don't see it getting too much use when everything is stored away in I tunes.

If you`re going to use Itunes for most of your listening it is advisable to rip in a lossless format for the best quality,I`m considering going this route myself but am not looking forward to re-ripping all my cd`s into lossless!
