Discounting price, which is better Amazon mp3 or iTunes?

I found that the former is in general 256 vbr, but couldn't see anything on itunes regarding bit rates.

Original itunes was 128kbps and you could get plus tracks at 256(or thereabouts)Kbps. Now I am sure more or less everything is at the plus rate. Soundwise, I cannot tell the difference between my Amazon and itunes downloads.

JD is right. Spotify is 320kbps, but more than that I am sure the Ogg Vorbis compression is better than that used by itunes and Amazon. In my experience there is far more life in tracks streamed from Spotify.

good call on spotify, but I'm thinking of buying a couple of tracks I know I wont want the albums they belong to (or more accurately i don't want to pay the money to find out)

But other than that, I'd go by price - they're both 256k, and the amazon file thingie (I'm guessing they're cheaper) loads it into iTunes for you if I remember...
