I first encountered this song on a Whitesnake Live EP in the late 70's/early 80's, when I was a metal loving 12year old.

Presume David Coverdale covered it, don't know who wrote it though. Is this your new direction then, JD?

JD, FWIW, I listened to both before you revealed which is which and I would've sworn sample 1 was eq'd and 2 was the original.

I prefer 2 (listening on my laptop through Senns HD 595).

I'm glad I got it right! I felt that vocals seemed a bit more...'bloated' in version 2 and there was more air around the voice in the original. Wasn't a whole lot in it though.
