Current System (for music)

B&W 602 S3's (still going strong)

Rotel RC-03 pre-amp

Rotel RB-03 power amp

Logitech Squeezebox Touch (keeping)

I'm looking at changing my system as I'm thinking of moving house and I'd like to move forward 10 years! As much as I love my trusty B&W's they're on the big side and I could do with getting some smaller speakers. I've decided on going to listen to some Dali Zensor 3's paired with a Arcam FMJ A19 amp. If I like the Dali's I will be buying the Vokal centre speaker and Zensor's 1's for the rears too.

Out of interest does anyone think this would be a sideways step or even a downgrade? Oh, I Iisten primarily to Heavy Rock and Metal music.

Why the centre and rears? What are you attaching them to ?

Most people listen to music in stereo.

Sorry.

My AV amp (via it's pre-outs) connects to the Aux input on my Rotel. I have B&W LCR 60 centre speaker and 600's for the rears.

I listen to music mostly but have an AV amp also. I wouldn't be able to live with mis-matched speakers lol.

I listen to my music in two channels only via my Rotel's and SBT.

Aha, just wondered.

Hi. I used to own a pair of 603 S3 (my brother has them now) and, if you ask me, they're very nice speakers that can certainly boogie. The Dali would be a sideways step at best. If you're looking for small speakers, try to audition the Dynaudio Emit M20 (they certainly seem to be getting a lot of praise). If you can stretch budget, Neat Iotas fit the bill.

As for amps, the arcam A19 is a great place to start (I love the thing and it's my favourite amp for the money). If you wanna go for an all in one, Naim Unitiqute 2 is bloody awesome.
