46d7000 v 50vt30

Evening guys, i have recently purchased a 50vt30 from seven oaks, and so far i find it stunning. Is the picture on this set, once its run for a couple of hundred hours and been calibrated as good a picture as the samsung ue46d7000. My mate is unsure what to go for, he only wants one for blu-ray and xbox. The problem being i think hes more convinced by the aesthetics of the product as opposed to the picture quality. Any help much appreciated

It really depends on personal preference. Plasma TVs have a faster refresh rate which is more suitable for gaming.
