I really, really, thank everyone for the help. I am in France right now :)
I have a nice view of what can be done...but for the speakers it's not very clear.
Speakers that may be a fit :
- Q Acoustics 5020/5040
- Buchardt S400 MK2
- Kef R3 Meta
- Wharfedale Aura 2 / Linton heritage
- MoFi sourcepoint 8
- Focal Aria X N1
- Rega AYA
- Elac Vela 404.2

The speakers specs are:
- Amps : Audiolab 8000A (temporarily) & Rega Elex/Elicit mk5
- Should be small enough
- Punchy bass
- Will be close to the wall
- Will be used at low volume (all day long...)

Again, your thoughts ?
Thank you,

Laurent (From Lyon/France or San Mateo, CA/USA )

Revy has both the Rega Elex and the Elac Vela and this combination works well, having the actual product is better than reviews you see on YT or WHF and I think it's worth exploring.

With the exception of the KEF where the bottom end frequencies are not so prominent, you can add a subwoofer I guess. The other speakers you mentioned are a worthy option but also consider the Dali range of speakers.

Such as the Dali Rubicon 2 speakers, small yes but good enough for your office. You can always pair it up with a subwoofer, if necessary.

!! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU TIME AND COMMENTS !!!

After hours of reading, my choice is :

Rega Elicit MK5 + Elac Vela BS 403 (or VBS404.2 if available)

Do you think it is a good match ?

Oh My !!! Thanks so much for the info !
So I need to find an other amp / dac + phono stage....
Honestly I have the money and it's almost impossible to get a descent setup... for my need.

I have received the amp (NAS C 399 + USB and Dirac). I still have to order the speakers.
In your opinion, should I go with the ELAC Vela 403.2 or 404.2 ?
Thank you!

The latter I believe is the newer model. Prices are all over the place but 403.2 should be cheaper or you may find an excellent deal for 404. Either is great, it's your call :)

PS I hope you find your 404, great name!!! :)

Active Jbl 4305P everything can be hooked up to them including legacy devices such a turntables as long as you have an external phono stage. Job done loads of money left supposed to be £2k can be had for £1300 at the moment thinking about getting some myself

EDIT sorry I have been politely informed by the kind gasolin that you have found an option for amp so these wont work but the passive versions might be worth a look

Wtf is then the point of buying an expensive nad C399 if you just gonna buy active speakers ??

Take it easy Dude wind your neck in.

I read this and nothing else because quite frankly I can't be bothered to read the rest so my mistake

"Hello guys,

My specs:
- Budget : 4000€ : Speakers + Amp/DAC
- The office is tiny room with a slopping ceiling and an open wall.
- The speakers will have to be close to the wall (20cms ??)
- I really enjoy heavy basses (but a sub is not an option)
- My music style is, well, everything groovy and slappy.
- Still the speaker should be drivable by an Audiolabs 8000A (Temporarily)

What are you thoughts ?
Thank you,,

Laurent."

looks like in the mean time since there first post they have bought NAD I simply didnt see/skipped a few posts (all posts) and just missed that detail.

lol

Quite frankly I don't care take or leave the advice

All you had to say quite politely is "I believe he/she has bought an amp so your option you just gave is N/A " simple really isn't it
