If you have the time this podcast is worth a listen. Apart from the segment on 3D sound there are some interesting thoughts on the pursuit of perfect reproduction, why most music lovers are content with mp3s, and why music is important to us. Actually while posting

this I googled the Bacch filter and there's a wealth of stuff about it - very interesting but expensive to download the demos. Perhaps WHF could test it on our behalf.
