2 Channel amp wired through AV Receiver.

I currently have a Yamaha RXV 1900, but gonna add separate CD player and 2 channel AMP. Obviously want to use same speakers for both systems. I understand I connect the front L+R preouts on the AV amp to the tape in on the 2 channel amp ??

Question, as my speakers are Bi-wireable, is there any reason why I can't wire both the 2 channel amp and AV amp as normal to the 2 sets of terminals on the speakers without having to connect the 2 channel and AV amp directly. Doing it this way will just make things easier for movie listening ( as in not having to mess around with the 2 channel amp each time). Obviously, I will have to user the jumper connection on the speakers, not making them biwireable.

Any thoughts on this.

Yes, wiring both amp's to the same set of speaker's will probably result in either one or both your amp's going bang!

Set it up as you first mentioned, using the pre-out's.

Okedokey then, kinda thought this would be the answer. Anyone any ideas then on the easiest way to explain to the wife how to work such a setup. It's bad enough with the AV amp, never mind adding something else into the equation.......

Look for a stereo amp with a unity gain or AV bypass facility on one of the inputs, then buy a universal remote such as one of the Logitech Harmony models and program it all up on that.

Or rely on the poor little fluffy-headed thing to remember a fairly simple procedure for herself.
