Hi there Stephen Welcome to the headphone forum! I think this is a no brainer. I think you will need noise cancelling, so go with the Bose ® QuietComfort ® 15. An alternative is the Sennheiser Momemtum for non noice cancellation.

+1. Well said. They''e also probably constantly unhappy with their own overpriced system they keep tweaking and are therefore jealous that you are content with yours. I've noticed some nasty comments on here too. Anyone who disagrees with them gets argued against and they all gang up.

I would just buy the AKGs and try them without a DAC. I think you might be pleasantly surprised and potentially save £150! My only word of caution is that they are meant for portability, so you might be better off with more of a 'home' headphone. What kind of music is it for?

Hi there, and welcome. The point of the over ear design is to secure them, so I think they will actually help with isolation. Also consider the PL30s. Hope this helps.

Can you demo them? I'm not sure if these are for you if you're not into bass. If you do want these, then the D321 is 249g and the D401 is 308g. May I suggest the AKG450 if you don't need a mic for £40 or the K451/2 for £50 with a mic? Is it for portable use only or home use too?
