Sticking to "Non serious" music :)

In no particular order:

"Poker Face" Lady Gaga

"(Mucho Mambo) Sway" Shaft

"Starry-eyed Surprise" Paul Oakenfold

"Knee Deepen" Moloko

"Underground" Sneaker Pimps

"I gotta feeling" Black eyed peas

"Waiting for Mary" Pere Ubu

"I'm not done" Fever Ray

"Small" Lamb

"Kashmir" Led Zepplin

As soon as you think up a list of only ten, countless more have to be excluded & the omissions are shameful such as no Goldfrapp, FSOL, Leftfield, Loop Guru, Tricky, Zappa, Front 242, Young Gods, NIN, Flaming Lips, Orb etc, etc. Then there's classical...

Thank God questions like this get asked on this Forum!

There's only a few songs that I can confidently say have a firm place on my list, at least for a while:

Tin Soldier - The Small Faces

Last Goodbye - Jeff Buckley

Old Man - Neil Young

Time - Pink Floyd (despite those effing bells).

Pink Moon - Nick Drake

This is already starting to get stressful, so I'll leave it there!

Hi Everyone

Variety is the spice of life...

Good to go through all the lists posted so far. Thanks fo making the effort.

It is great to see that no two persons here have exactly the same likings and favorites ...

The world of music is so vast and varied, there is so much to choose from and enjoy....

LONG LIVE GOOD MUSIC AND THOSE WHO APPRECIATE IT !!

Painful; top ten prog, or top ten female vocal, or top ten beginning with L, I might be able to cope, but getting down to just ten causes real pain..

Damn: no Dylan? no Chuck Berry? no Morricone? no Beethoven? This is impossible...

Yes I know it is tough to make a top ten list of anything...may be top 100...

Thanks for trying anyway..

Mine change all the time and 'song' is a bit limiting given the range of music I listen to.

On the subject of test tracks, I don't have any specific ones. I firmly believe that your test tracks should be the music you are listening to. There is absolutely no point in choosing a system because it plays 'Dark Side of The Moon' beautifully, only to find later on that it falls apart with a Mahler Symphony or a jazz piano trio.

I agree. Thanks for the making the list.

"Kashmir" Led Zepplin..a great song indeed ! As expected no two persons have anything close to having the same favorites. May be even twins won't...Is difficult to club all your favorites in a 'ten' list. Thanks for the first list.
