What, busking for food? ;)

I didn't see anyone throwing Pizza at her

But was she dodging salad?

If she is like me then probably yes :)

But seriously it is a great little venue , 40 to 50 people maximum . Most performers do a night in Maidstone before going on to the larger main Pizza Express Soho branch .

Thats the thing with these small intimate venues you get to hear performers close up and personal that usually play larger and more expensive gigs .

As you can see here she gets about a bit .

Larry Miller at the Hulbridge sports and social club last night .

http://www.essex-live.co.uk/tickets/v186/hullbridge/hullbridge-sports-and-social-club/

All I can say is WOW ! this guy is good , he is far better IMO than many of the best known top blues / rock celebrity guitarists and until yesterday I had never heard him play , but from now on I am going to spread the word :)

Possibly going to be gig of the year even though it is only January  :rockout:

Saw Strawbs (full electric line-up of Cousins, Lambert, and Cronk with Adam Wakeman on keys and the brilliant Tony Fernandez on drums) at Fibbers in York last month. Fantastic performance by the band with Cousins on top form.

Next stop is a triple bill of Strawbs, Curved Air, and Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash in Shrewsbury, followed by an Oysterband gig a couple of days later in Wolverhampton. Later in the year we've got Derby Folk Festival to look forward to including sets by Steeleye Span, Martin Simpson, Show of Hands, Lucy Ward Band, Kate Rusby and others.

Also hoping to get to a performance of Michael Tippett's 'Child of Our Time' in Manchester at the end of March. A work that isn't performed that often.

Nothing quite like seeing live music.

Used see Tony play most weeks with the superb Ruthless Blues from circa '88 & through the '90s until he moved to Portugal. Well worth checking out their stuff on Spotify.

Saw Black Stone Cherry in Camden on Friday & seeing Blackberry Smoke in Islington tomorrow. Just found out they're being supported by Million Dollar Reload so that's a bonus.

Camel are playing this year? Nothing on their website about any tour :?

Ignore that, I was looking at their 'Tour' page. I see they're playing this weekend. I wish I could see them....

Yes I am going to see Camel on Tuesday and Jeff Beck on May 13th , can't wait :)

There are still tickets left for Jeff Beck ;)

Camel , last night at the Cambridge Corn Exchange .

Andy Latimer just gets better with age , what a performance !

The sound quality and balance at this venue has improved dramatically over the last few years to a point now that is as good as any I have heard !

Two last week both at the Colston Hall in Bristol.

John Harle / Marc Almond performance of The Tyburn Tree. The first half was pretty rubbish. It was john Harle and musicians making a noise. Marc Almond came out for the 2nd half and things really picked up. The album is quite challenging. I thought it was brilliant. My friend hated every second :).

Although theyre not Jazz. Went to see Imelda May as part of the Bristol jazz festival. Had to suffer an hour or so of live jazz whilst getting a drink. Her show was just awesome. That voice ! Performed a lot of new material , the up coming album sounds brilliant.

The first half was entirely Snow Goose and the second was a mixture of old and newer favorites .

It was amazing the whole band was so tight , they all love what they do so much and this passion comes across very strongly in the music . :)
