From a security perspective (particularly because mine is used for work), I'd not want to use a PC/laptop that someone else had owned.

Only a lunatic would buy a s/h PC and not do a fresh install of the OS.

Though if you're using Windows I personally think the ship has sailed when it comes to a privacy/security perspective anyway!

My PC days - whether desktop or laptop - are long gone. These days a phone and tablet suffice.

Same with early adopting. I once paid £1100 for a portable Panasonic DVD player when they first came out🤦🏼‍♂️

Never again.

Now I look for value for money. Phone is an older model but new direct from Apple. Same with Denon AVR. Fire 10 is a refurbed tablet with Amazon’s warranty and a fresh instal. No banking etc done on it.

Small items - 4k discs etc - I’m happy to take a punt on SH from rated sellers, but refurbed with manufacturer’s warranty is my go to now.

Had excellent deals on Cambridge Audio and Panasonic.

Yer pays yer money etc 🤞

Haven't tried ebay for PCs, nor used, but my two Intel NUCs also came from/through Amazon installers. Several years ago I was able to get a custom Win 7 i7 unit for my business well after other suppliers had stopped offering Win 7, and last year I got a Win 11 Celeron unit with 16gb + 512gb., just for music. Shopping patiently, I got just what I wanted each time, and well below market.

In the US, I used Computer Upgrade King as the supplier until last year when I learned of a few Chinese companies that I liked.
