Tough question you are asking. Considering they both come from the same manufacture and not that far apart (in terms of age). I would expect, all other variables not considered, the older amp to produce better sound that the newer smaller amp. But, that is just my expectation. If you have to listen to amps side-by-side to tell which is better, then the difference isn't worth it. they are, for all practical purposes, the same.
I am keen to know what you ended up buying. I am planning to replace my stolen 663 with a 1067. Good value.
