Yamaha RX-V1800 help!! Pls!!

Hi all,

I have just got myself a mint 2nd hand RX-v1800 and wondered does anybody know if it will definitely do HDMI passthrough ?? I won't get time to setup till next week.

Also was wondering if it does arc or is that my tv that handles that??

There is no HDMI passthrough of ARC with the RX-V1800.

Hi Rick,

yes i figured this out now but its ok,

i have run a 2nd hdmi up to tv for virgin hd, on memory 4 i have HDMI set to other and not RX-V1800 so this way i can switch amp on but have tv sound on only,only drawback to that is that the amp wont decode hd audio, its just PLII in this HDMI mode

Its fine tho because when im around i use the other memory setups where the HDMI is set to 1800 so its all singing etc...

its a capable amp you think?

not a huge step up from my old 2400 but maybe in modern HD times,
