Hi, i just recently bought a Yamaha A2010 (£850 Delivered with three year warranty new) and some Q Acoustics Q7000 speakers to go with my Panasonic 50" V20 TV. Looking for some decent speaker cables to hook it up with, and some HDMI`s to connect my Panasonic BDT220 Blu Ray player and Virgin TIVO box. Need 6-7 meters for front and center and 20 meters for rears, and also a subwoofer cable.

Also what are your thoughts on the system and how will it perform, i currently have an all in one panasonic 5.1 blu ray system but wanted something better and bought after reading some reviews without a demo (i dont have access to any show rooms near my home).

Feedback much appreciated.

Hi barry platford

Nice one :)

I'll suggest standard 79 strand or at a push 500 strand OFC speaker cables as i feel these will be more then good enough for your amp and speakers. Fwiw, i use/used these standard speaker cables with AV amplification such as the Aventage RX-A2010, RX-A3010, Plinius Odean, Chord Electronics SPM3005, Yamaha DSP-Z11, etc.

Btw, Q Acoustics speakers work very well with Yamaha AV amplification :rockout:

All the best

Er sorry I can't answer your technical question, but from where did you get a new Yamaha RX-A2010 for only £850, with a three-year warranty??

Hi Son_of_SJ

All Aventage Series AV receivers carry Yamaha's three year warranty as standard :)

Btw, as the current Aventage range is on its way out the prices have generally come down by quite a margin.

Thank you Rick. I realise that they will be superseded by the 1020 etc series fairly soon, as I said yesterday in another post. However, the cheapest that I can find for the RX-A2010 is £949. Hence my wondering precisely where the OP got one for a hundred pounds less, as I am seriously considering buying one.

Thanks for that information Barry! The last time that I bought something from America (two of my Tannoy TS12 subwoofers) I forgot about the difference in voltage between America and the UK, and I unthinkingly plugged one in - and blew the circuit board, which led to a £300 repair. Ouch! I'll be more careful next time!
