Yamaha A-S2100!Need help with speakers!

First of all I want to say Hi! to everyone.I'm a newbie.I have recently bought an amplifier Yamaha A-S2100 and I want to buy some decent speakers to match my beautie 🙂 I know,the best way to choose proper one is to audit them,right?But anyone has any experience with A-S2100 or A-S2000?My room is 4.5m x 3.5m and my budget will be around £2000.I like details in sound,like for example clear acoustic guitar sound,clear vocals and also I like really deep,tight bass,like not boom! boom!,if You know what I mean 🙂 My taste in music is really eclectic,but I like rock music,acoustic live concerts,but also trip-hop,hip-hop.I was reading about some speakers and I have choosen JBL 4312E studio monitors,JBL Studio 580 floorstanders and maybe Klipsch RF-& II floorstanders.Klipsch's spec looks great with very good sensitivity and frequency response,big woofers,horn tweeter.But maybe I need just monitors like JBL 4312E?They're legend!What You guys thinking?I appreciate any recommendations.Thanks in advance!

I was lucky enough to be in Berlin last week and cought some of the IFA show. Yamaha were there playing the 2100 in a little room they had built, it sounded great.

They were using the NS-F901 speakers, drematically toed in. It was quite a warm sound from the speakers all in all, not quite sharp enough for me, but worth a listen.

I'm sure people will soon post their favourites...

In that relatively small room, I would consider a Standmount....the bass might not be seismic, though too much bass could over-power the room; but they should give a lot of what you are looking for.

I vote JBL 4312E. I heard those with some Mcintosh amps and loved the sound. They are also 93db, a very easy load for the Yamaha. They would be a true vintage revival match.

Alternative: sell a kidney and buy the 4365 studio monitors. *shok*

I use Kef's LS50's with my AS 2000. Which sound fantastic.

But do listen to the B&W PM1's they sounded superb with the YAMAHA's

I have heard the PM1's and they don't sound £1200 better than the LS50's IMO.

Thanks chebby!These are beautiful!But I heard something about restricted bass output in them and better is to partner them with active subwoofer.I wouldn't use the subwoofer 🙁 Thanks for links,anyway 🙂

Today,I have chosen two options,namely JBL 4312E and Klipsch Heresy III.I know,both of them are relatively "small" size,but is it possible,that they will have enough deep bass?Both have the same size woofers,but Heresy has sealed enclosure.No bass reflex.Furthermore,Heresy's frequency response starts from 58Hz and JBL's from 40Hz.So,if I'm correct,JBL can go deeper,right?And of course Heresy is bi-wireable and JBL's not.Can You guys explain that everything and recommend me something?Thanks in advance for the patience *blush*

JBL monitors always had less low bass extension in specs than competition. The aquaplast woofer was always cut quite high up in the midrange to produce that legendary tight and machinegun fast snare drum for rock and jazz. Acoustic Research with their acoustical suspension enclosure went deeper with less distortion, leaving the midrange more to the dedicated small midrange driver and was prefered by classical music lovers.

However, Klipsch had even less than JBL because their goal was high efficient design - go louder on as less watts as possible. The biggest watt guzzler in audio is the lower bass region. Therefore, you could enjoy Klipsch with a tube amp and if you had JBL you could easilly feed them with some 300W of Sansui or Yamaha power and they kept asking for more.

Ah, West Coast vs East Coast sound talk on WHF. *acute*

You have nothing to worry about the speakers being too small. The "monkey coffin" studio monitor box is compact but can give an impressive punch when pushed with some good amplification. Today you can almost never see a 12" subwoofer in home hi-fi, let alone used as normal woofer in a three way speaker system.

The Yamaha will drive them like a boss. I personally would buy the JBLs.
