Hi Guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my av receiver, my current system is Acam avr 250, quad l lite system,Q-AV rears, PS3, HDX, Sonos. After reading reviews and having a listen Denon 2310 not sure which would have a better stereo performance? Or fit in better with quads?

Can't decide between the two. I've been told if I'm used to the Arcam may be go for separate stereo amp. Any thoughts?

Got mine yesterday! I'm not going to be any help to you, though, as I haven't yet had time to listen to it at home. I currently only have stereo speakers - B&W 602S2 - but 3 B&W M1s on order, not decided on a sub. I will have a good listen at the weekend.

The Yamaha RX-V2065 is more in the league of Denon 2310's elder sibling, the 3310. Denon 2310 is in the same class as the Yamaha RX-V1065. So, for the money, I would prefer the Yamaha. But definitely demo both receivers & choose for yourself, as they all sound different to one another & it's really down to your preference.

The Yamaha RX-V2065 is a replacement for the RX-V1900 & is supposed to be better than its predecessor. I haven't heard the RX-V2065, but I own the RX-V1900 which is a superb receiver.

Having read that yamaha and denon tend to be on the warmer side of things, am i better of looking at may be one of the pioneer amps to work with quad L Lites?

May be the SC LX72 or SC LX82? Music is key to me in this set up. Can anyone help!

I have a Yamaha RX-V3800 and I like the tonal balance with my Quads very much. However, I've replaced the front pair with 12L2s - just like many others who've upgraded the basic package with other speakers from the range.

Pioneer tends to be on brighter side of things. Take your pick. I personally hated the Pioneer's brightness.

Thanks Bigboss, Sorry to ask again guys, In order to match the quality of music from my avr 250, I was thinking may be stretching to the Z7, pioneer SC LX82 and may in time changing the front three. Would it be better to have a good stereo amp for front three and may go for the yammy 1065/2065?

Hi Guys, After hearing all amps on my shortlist, I've now purchased the Denon 2310,which I should receive by the weekend. Now I will start to look for a stereo amp to drive front speakers. Can anyone help in terms of connecting this to the Denon, also would I be able to use my subwoofer whilst listening to music?

HI all,

I've read What Hifi promised a test of the 2065. Is the test done ?

I'm very interested in that test : I would like to replace my Marantz sr5600 by a new better amp and the 2065 could be the one.

I have 2 KEF IQ9 + 1 IQ2C + 2 IQ1 + 1 Mordaunt Short MS309i.

I'll be glad to read your review about it.

See you soon

How are you getting on using it? I am particularly concerned to know if it works with sky hd ie does it have an assignable optical audio in to allow you to take high def visuals from the HDMI cable( Bizzarely only stereo from sky) and dolby 5.1 from the optical. this was a problem with the 1065 which needed a firmware upgrade and i am nervous of buying until I see this clarified.
