Yamaha 2040 amp good for B&W XT speakers? And 4k compatible?

As above. Which 4K compatible is it? Will it work with 4K Blu-Ray players?

Hi Gel,

In simple terms the Yamaha will pass 4K upto 60fps if no HDCP is present. It does not have HDCP 2.2 on the HDMI board, and it is unlikely to be upgradeable. Chances are without this HDCP 2.2 it will not work with the new 4K players when they arrive. The new Yamaha AVENTAGE receivers due later this year will have this compatibity as well as DTS-X and HDR. Currently the only amp's that will work are the Sony STRDN-1060, Denon AVR-X7200wa and the Marantz 8802a processor.
