Yamaha 1067 £640 or 2065 £510 ??

My brother has just bought a new set up consisting of a LG 50PK590, Sony 370, Humax 9300T, MA BX6 floorstanders, BX2 surrounds centre and sub he's currently also using my old onkyo 606. He wants a new amp and is leaning towards a Yamaha he popped in a dealers the other day and the 1067 is available for £640 but the assistant also mentioned they had a 2065 kicking about at another branch which he could have for £510. I know the 1067 is 3d capable which he doesns't need but which one is the better choice machine as i'm not familiar with the 1067 ? Cheers

I got the 2065 just before they launched the 1067.

The main thing for me over the 1065 at that time was the internet capability (net radio and DLNA) and the 2 HDMI output. These features are now available on the 1067, and it is a much better looking machine. So I would have chosen the 1067 simply because it does the same and looks better.

However, 2065 sounds better. Much better than 1067? Only you can tell...

He went for the 2065 at £480 in the end too much of a bargain at that price.
