Witchcraft!

Had to get out of bed earlier than I wanted because one of the smoke alarms was making a single, regular chirp, presumably meaning its battery is flat. Eventually managed to remove it from the ceiling, so it no longer has mains power, and remover the battery. But it is still chirping away.

How is this even possible?! Is it powered by pure evil?

Mine are reliable thermometers.
A drop in temperature is their cue to indicate a borderline PP3.

High frequencies are directional, but that's not how it seems (at 5 in the morning) as I stand within earshot of 3.....deciding which is doing the chirping.....waiting 30 seconds between each chirp 🤬
