Love the new site - glad to see What HiFi being brought into the 21st century

Second thing first - please implement a search feature for the forums. I'm sure there will be a significant amount of knowledge shared on here and it seems a shame to waste it if it can't be found again. Another well-known forum place (I'm sure you know which) runs some very powerful forum software - highly recommended.

But I digress - what I'm here for is to pick your brains about taking advantage of a bit of redecorating going on at my place. I have the lovely B&W MT-30 speakers, with the rears on the gorgeous stands. However, for the last year or so, I've made do with sticking the speaker cables behind the sofas/radiator, etc. Now that we are about to rip out the carpet and put down some lovely solid oak flooring, I thought it might be a good opportunity to hide the cables. Is this just a simple case of sticking them behind the skirting or do I actually need to do some planning here?

cheers

You can put speaker cables behind the skirting no problem. I've got my electric ring main behind the skirting in one area of my lounge. Just make sure when you refix the skirting you DON'T PUT A SCREW OR NAIL THROUGH THEM or you will need a new set, and remember to get your speakers in the right place first cause you wont want to take the skirting off again.
