I recently got my kitchen done up and bought a nice dock for it - a Vita Audio R2i. It sounds great and I've been really pleased with it playing Apple lossless off my Ipod, streaming from Itunes to an Airport Express connected to it, the radio etc.

One problem has occurred recently though with the cold snap. I've got it plugged into an electrical socket on the wall which is right next to my central heating/hot water boiler and its on/off switch.

Now that the heating is firmly set to on I've noticed that whenever the boiler is coming on and the ignition is firing up to light the gas, then the music on the Vita goes off for a couple of seconds. It's seriously annoying and I can only conclude that the boiler is draining the electrical supply away from the dock while its firing up. (it does this on all playback sources - ipod, radio, airport).

I've tried plugging the dock into my Tacima but it made no difference. Can anyone suggest anything else that would be worth a shot as I don't really have many other options to relocate the dock in the kitchen?

Thanks

grrrrr - its cold in here!

More likely to be a radio frequency signal created by the boiler switchgear disrupting the Wi-fi or the Vita's internal circuitry, which then takes a short while to re-establish itself and play music again.

Thanks Andrew. Doesn't sound too promising then other than try moving it elsewhere or turn the heating off. Darn.

Or get an electrician/boiler technician to look at the boiler switch/thermostat, especially if it's old, and maybe fit a suppressor to it.
