Hi all,
I'm new(ish) to posting on this forum, but am a long time reader.
I've just moved house and am licking my lips with anticipation at having the opportunity to spend some cash on setting up a decent new home AV system.
I am awaiting to hear what B&W series the previous occupants had in terms of their 5.1 package (as they've offered to sell it if I'm interested upon them returning from holiday).
And I am currently leaning towards pairing the B&W 5.1 with :
- Sony STR-DN1050 AV Receiver
- Samsung UE48H6400 TV
- and I have an old Sony BDP-s360 blu-ray, (which will be fine as I don't watch discs very often)
Both the Receiver and the TV offer highly rated performance, but are available at very competitive prices = hence my interest. Seems these will probably deliver excellent bang for my buck.
** I'm happy (and inviting) alternative views though - if anyone feels there are better set-ups out there.
In terms of budget - I've no idea what the B&W surround package might cost; but if too high, I was going to buy the Q Acoustics 2000i package. All in all its looking something like this:
- Receiver = £299
- TV = £550
- 5.1 = £500
I've got up to about £1500 to get this sorted.
I'll be predominantly using Sky+ HD, Spotify, with occasional blu ray and DVDs.
All advice, comments, observations welcome!
Cheers.
