Hi all

Recently bought a pair of RX2's and i have them on the stand my tv is on. Bass is a bit too much though and im just wondering will stands make the sound better/better controlled bass? Ive tried to link my setup but not sure how to do it properly. you can see in the pic i also have wharfedales 10.6. was planning to buy some speaker stands and put them where the wharfedales are. Is it really worth buying stands? will i notice a big difference in sound quality?

Any help is much appreciated

Pull them forward away from the wall so that the front of the speaker cabinet is closer to the front of your furniture - this will cut down on reflections which will be smearing the soundstage they're trying to produce. This should also ease up on the amount of bass you're getting.

A good pair of stands will be better.

Agreed, try bringing them out from the walls and further forward on the shelf you have. If this doesn't work try some stands. Do you have gel pads or blu tack under the speakers? Is the bass from the RX2 speakers more than the Wharfdales? They appear to be a similar distance from the back wall.

Also, don't think you mention what sources you use in your sig. e.g. CD player, Tuner, TV, Vinyl etc?

I brought them forward quite a bit and toed them in a bit. sound is much better now but they just look stupid being pulled so far forward so im going to buy some stands i reckon.

I use gelpads under the speakers which came supplied with the speakers.

Ive only had the RX2's for a week so im still running them in so cant really comment on the bass just yet until they are run in properly. T For a speaker so small (compared to the wharfedales) the bass on them is very very good though.

Only sources i use are my laptop (connected to dac), xbox via optical to dac and tv.
