As an avid home cinema fan and therefore owner of both blu-ray and sky hd, i came to wonder why sky hd is not 1080p? With the current attention turning to full hd tvs [ this months cover feature ] and sky increasing the amount of hd channels it broadcasts [ compared to other digital services ], will 1080p become the norm?

What about Virgin...assume not 1080p either but thought there may be more potential here due to cable.

Is it worth even getting full hd if most HD signals are hd ready?

There is also the benifit that with a Full HD pannel the TV only has to de-interlace the image giving a pixel-pixel image rather than also having to down-scale the image as well, so you should get a sharper image on a Full Hd set over that of a HD Ready one.
