You see on Currys the 55-inch Oleds are £2000 and the 65-inches are £3700-£3800 or even £4000, and these are the old ones too! The new ones are £3500 for flagship 55-inch and £5000 for the 65-inch same model. These prices haven't changed much either, but you look at the Sony and Samsung models the difference between LCDs is £1000-£800. And this is going from 55-inches to 65-inches.

The price difference on OLEDs are just crazy money, any ideas as to why? Ta. Then I suppose you go to 75-inches and they cost £25,000!

the large screen oleds have a lower yield, hence more expensive, last years 65 inch oleds are meant to drop in price soon at currys before the new ones come in.

So while flagship prices have risen (or perhaps it's that the old ones have tumbled), the price differential is actually narrowing: a 65in was 85-100% more expensive than a 55in last year, wheras now the difference is about 42%.

Which, given that you're getting about 40% more screen area on a 65in when compared to a 55in, seems about right.

And if you compare the Samsung 9000 series LEDs, for example, the prices are £2099 for the 55in, and £2899 for the 65in, so again around 40% difference.
