Which of these speakers are most forgiven for poor records?

After listening to many speakers i thought maybe the kef r500 would be the best for (older) rock. On most speakers it sounds tiny, harsh and bright. It hurt my ears. Also the kef isn't perfect, but it has a darker sound, what i like. But there is also Epos k2 and k3. Not much dealers here. Has anyone heard it against the kef? Is it more forgiving and not so bright with poor records?

Music are Sirenia, Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Epica, Within Temptation, Xandria etc. No cdp more, but a Pioneer n50 streamer. Amp an old Denon which i will replace together with speakers. For my music maybe a nad c356 is good.

I see not what I had in mind for old rock. Have read some Iron Maiden albums are good sound wise, don't know about the others. By streaming do you mean something like Spotify?

No, i have all my cd's ripped in flac on a nas server. The kef r500 cost 1500 euro, the epos k2 925 euro. But here no dealers who have kef r500 and the epos k2. I can't compare them.

I had heard iron maiden stuff sounds bad.sucks as I am currently after the live after death album but no remasters available, only on iTunes, with a recent new remaster.

Fwiw the dynaudio speakers I find are good with this type of music as no harshness.

I think the key thing is to hear the amp and speakers together. Its hard to advise as your problem seems to be the music itself. I may be wrong but spending more money usually results in more detail. Amp brands I would look at are Arcam, Roksan Kandy, MF, NAD. Speakers Kef, Tannoy, B&W. Have not heard those Epos speakers. Someone else had this problem and he found some old speakers sounded good. Maybe you need more lofi than hifi?

Tannoy too bright! I am also afraid that the Kef R500 will highlight pooe recordings. Epos K2 maybe more forgiven but not boring like Dynaudio.

The new Exposure 2010S2D amp seems very nice and i think better than NAD. But it seems a very transparent amp. For my music maybe not so good.

I have read Exposure will be too revealing for your music. Oh I forgot Marantz amps. The 8004 maybe ok for you. I only tried the Tannoy Precision 6.1s certainly not bright but then I was not playing your sort of music. I find jazz a good test, drum cymbals can be irrating on some systems. Also piano and double bass sorts out many speakers.
