Hi Topher. I have both a 8gb nano and a 80gb classic and I can't really hear any difference between them.

hi topher, regarding the ipod choice i would go for the biggest capacity you can afford. i bought a thirty gig ipod just under two years ago and i have at the moment just under 6,000 songs on it with a capacity of around 7.500. I"m going to have buy the bigger capacity classic very soon.I thought it would take me a lot longer than it has to fill it, you don"t want to fork out more of your hard earned cash soon after you"ve made your purchase because you"ve discovered filled it all too soon.(as i found myself) good luck. dr beeker

If I were you, I'd hold off buying an iPod for a week.

Apple have an event planned for Tuesday (Sept 9th) where it's expected they'll be announcing new iPods. Then you have the choice: buy the new goodies, or buy the tried 'n' tested oldies at reduced prices.

Cheers,
Tony

I've got a classic 30GB and an iPod Touch 8GB, if your just in it for the music then the classic with the biggest hard drive you can find is perfect. But I do love the Touch for its internet browser.
