Hi gel

Looking at what's out at the moment and also looking ahead towards xmas ( using Amazon's listings), here are some of the blu-ray's I am looking to purchase subject to available funds.

Man of Steel, Alan Partridge:Alpha Papa, Hangover Part 3, Only God Forgives, Kick-Ass 2, The Conjuring, Predator 3D-limited edition with predator head and Elysium.

I will also be visiting Dvdworldusa to look for any new releases, sometimes available months before their Uk release, ( should be getting the film Prisoners any day now, not out in Uk until feb).

Happy Movie watching to all.

:)

Hi BenLaw

Maybe not all the blu-rays on my list are that great but already have the first two Hangover fims so just completing the set, same with Kick-Ass 2, not too bothered about the 3d conversion of Predator but very much like the look of the limited edtion Predator head that comes with it, will look great in my home cinema room.

 Sorry mate, that was a bit prickly of me, the world would be dull if we all had the same tastes :) I love Predator but mostly hate 3D and love the original Kick-Ass.

Predator was filmed using ropey film stock (Kodak, I think), so I'm not sure it's a great candidate for 3D conversion.

Having said that, the same was true of Aliens, which was polished-up well for its Blu-ray release. (I'm a little surprised this hasn't been converted to 3D.)

Hi BenLaw

Totally agree, the world would be pretty dull if we liked all the same things.

What type of films do you like, I have a weird liking of most types including all the mainstream blockbusters, small independent movies, old classics reborn on blu-ray, world cinema and even the odd rom-com.

Would be interesting to know what everybody on this forum likes, sorry gel, think I may have taken over your original question.

If this subject has been discussed before then sorry for bringing it up again.

Well you pretty much covered everything there! Check out the WHF film club thread for some interesting films I like. Although at near 1000 posts it's probably not terribly accessible. I particularly like (very) old horror films and most things 'dark' and am currently working my way slowly through some 50s and 60s European cinema, some of the better, mostly smaller, cinema releases of the last few years and some video nasties. I like comedy but struggle to find many films that keep me laughing on repeat viewings.

Edit: to illustrate and summarise a number of those issues, two of my recent film club suggestions were Le Quattro Volte and Snowtown.

Yep, I am completing my set with Kick-Ass 2, and Kick-Ass 1 is a great demo disk.

I'm all for forward thinking!

Personally I'm looking forward to the Blu-Ray releases of "Star Trek 17: Harry Mudd Goes To Vegas" and "Terminator 7: 1066".

Although they'll only receive average reviews, they'll be great demo disks!
