Where are they? The so-called 3D-ready projectors are not 3D ready at all, so where are the proper 3D projectors that I can stick an HDMI lead in and get 3D out the box as it were?

Eh?

The 3D projectors that have been announced (Sony, JVC etc) are just like any other projector - feed them a source and they'll display it.

So, feed them 3D content from, say, a 3D Blu-ray player, a Sky+ HD box or a PS3 and they'll display 3D.

Yep, for that you need one of the aforementioned 3D projectors from JVC, Sony etc - like this

We've got reviews coming up in our February issue, on sale 10th January

So not available for a Xhristmas pressie for myself??? That was really my question!

Thanks. Way out of my price league unfortunately.

Given that my screens size and throw distance will not require such brightness, I shall wait till there are some (lower spec ones available) that are more on price parity with 3D TV's.

I believe the JVC ones are available now also, they're certainly shown on dealer pages ready to buy - though the price is going to be in line with, and over that of, the Sony.

No doubt the PJ manufacturers will be flooding the market with shiny new 3D capable PJ's next year, at which point I would expect the current crop to tumble in price also.
