how come great films like heat,gladiator,bourne films, lotr,blade and braveheart not out on bluray yet you would expect the major film studios to have released them by now they would sure to be massive sellers lets hope for decent transfers when they do.

I suspect a few of them are just that i.e. they are doing decent transfers before releasing them. Certainly true for LOTR as a lot of the special effects can't stand up to scrutiny under hi-def so are being redone apparently.

I can't understand why the bigwigs are talking about eradicating DVD from homes/shops. People should have the best that money can buy, or a cheaper option, a choice. Innovation isn't good all the time.

yeah i know about bourne films out on hd-dvd, i took the chance and bought into a lost cause by buying hd when come out.still expected the big blockbuster films out quicker.

well i got an ep30 HD DVD player from amazon with 2 discs for 50 notes, still got it ...bargain, also now have PS3 for bluray and game duties 
Yeah i would like to see alien and aliens on blu ray some time soon. Also Jurassic park, back to the future trilogy, pulp fiction, LOTR trilogy, star wars originals and.....oh there are too many i want. Terminator and terminator 2(redone cause i hear the current blu ray is poor) American History X, scarface, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan......The A Team! lol. Too many films that need to get a move on.

but... if it stood up to being watched in the cinema how come it won't on Blu-ray?

I really enjoyed the LOTR trilogy, but some of the effects looked like, er, effects, in the cinema too! But as it's a fantasy world that doesn't really matter too much.
