Alot of people on here do seem to go on about upscaling standard dvds to 1080p etc, & that if a certain player isnt up to the job they write it off, i personally IMO do not see what all the fuss is about to be honest? As when i watch standard dvds i always watch them in 576p & the picture quality is fantastic, i can even say some dvds look very close to HD whilst watching in 576p.I find when i watch DVDS in 1080p they look some what "washed out"! I have the pioneer lx70a bluray player so the upscaling to 1080p is up there with the best, but even with this player i still prefer 576p. I recently watched "the ring" on dvd the other night & id forgot to set the resolution to 576p, so the dvd was set to 1080p but i could tell straight away that it was set to this as it looked washed out as soon as i set it to 576p all was restored, full colours, nice detail etc does anybody else have any views on this?
