And now playing:

Miles Davis - In A Silent Way (side one only, wife was complaining)

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (one track only, wife was still complaining)

Hovercraft - Akathisia (she's not had time to complain yet)

One of the (many!) upsides of my recent downturn is the play what I want playlist.

And in the slightly dyspeptic mood I'm in, I'll start the evening with:

Laughing Stock - Talk Talk

I definitely have to be in the right mood for Talk Talk, usually late at night. Music is usually the best therapy for any downturn in my experience.

The joys of living with other people eh? Women! They've no taste! :D

Excellent Miles Davis choices, Bitches Brew is quite possibly my favourite Jazz album. I only own it on CD though, is yours a recent vinyl pressing or an original?

Madonna: Dress You Up 12" mix.

Madonna: Confessions On A Dance Floor (limited edition pink double vinyl).

She does have taste, she liked Hovercraft, she just doesn't like Jazz very much.

It's a 1st pressing which cost me 50p. Is that enough? OK, the labels have been scrawled all over, and the sleeve is wrecked. Is that enough? OK, the vinyl was pretty filthy when I bought it, but cleaned up well. Plays VG to Mint.

I was very happy when I found it, very happy.

Well, it was going to be KOL or In Rainbows next, but I may take your advice BBB, and go with Modern Romance instead.

Makes me wanna dance, it's a new romance!

And I didn't have to look that up. *blush*

Not sure what's with the hostile response? If it's because of my women have no taste coment, that was only a joke.

I was only asking about your Bitches Brew as I was thinking of getting one of the newer versions of the album. If yours was a new one I was going to ask how it sounds. Since you have an original you can't answer my question but thanks for the odd responce anyway!

Sorry, genuinely wasn't meant that way. Sometimes my sense of humour doesn't translate well in writing.

Note to self, use more smilies.

John Miles - 'Music' ...first play

..... and what do you think Freddy?

Bearing in mind I'm rubbish at describing music, I'd call it middle of the road rock/pop. Pleasant enough, but not unforgettable *smile*

Now....

Alice Cooper - 'Billion Dollar Babies'

Now...

ELP - 'Tarkus'

Now...

Joe Walsh - 'So What'

John Foxx - Metamatic

Ryuichi Sakamoto - B-2 Unit

My copy plays through perfectly until my favourite track, where it sticks 3 times. *sad*

Check this track out, and play it nice and loud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pbcC99C-Y8

Brought some lps back from my mum's...couldn't resist:

David Bowie: 'The Man Who Sold The World'. Still my favourite.

David Bowie: 'Ziggy Stardust'.

David Bowie: 'Hunky Dory'.

David Bowie: 'Changesonebowie'.

I did have a nice copy of 'Space Oddity' but God knows where that's gone. She's probably flogged it.

+ a few I found recently digging through market-stall crates:

Charlie Mingus: 'Blues And Roots'.

Harold Land: 'The Fox'.

Ornette Coleman: 'Something Else!!!!'. Still sounds like a threat to the jazz establishment.

John Coltrane: 'Africa/Brass'.

John Coltrane: 'Coltrane'.

Kenny Burrell: 'Midnight Blue'.

Sonny Rollins: 'A Night At The Village Vanguard'.
